When are we going to have the next version of Arcgis explorer? I sure hope to be lighter because the 1500 version needs a lot of pc resources...

Will changes to the API potentially break current customizations?  This is very important in order to plan resources for this upgrade.  Any information you could provide ahead of the release would be very helpful.  Thanks!

Add-ins written for 1500 should work just fine in the next release.

That's a good video from dev summit. 55 minute talks about new features coming in 1700. Check it out! Target date is May 31st, realistically it is first weeks in June.

I wasn't too far off when I scheduled that date, currently we are scheduled to have ArcGIS Explorer available for download the week of June 5th.

Some on the team have already started working on the next release... I won't be writing any dates down for that one yet 🙂

The website is still rolling pages over and getting up to date, but the latest release is available for download.

Following on from Andrei's comment:

It's worth stressing that the API has not changed at all for the 1700 release.

 Dim LtBltSym1 As Symbol = Symbol.CreateMarker("\\nt\CFPA_PUBLIC\AGX\CustomIcons\ltning1.png")

WTBI?? this is now throwing a NULL Exception never used to be the case with 1500, what has change for the Symbol.CreateMarker!!  cannot create any symbols .... really frustrating........ I thought things would work fine after the update to 1700! I updated both AGX and the SDK......
