I work in an office where our internet access is tight and our machines are set up so that as users we do not have admin privilages nor can we write to the c:\. My Problem is that with AGX installed I need to know how to configure it so that it can access the internet to pull in basemaps for end users.
In the GIS Department we are running ArcGIS 9.3.1 and plan to deploy AGX 1200Build to key personnel in the organization (all behind the same tech restrictions I am).
To add to my confusion with this issue I am able to add services to the Add-Ins uploader and bring in a few Add-Ins. But still no idea how to get Basemaps.
Our IT staff thinks that if we knew the URL that the basemap function is hitting we could give that url permission through the proxy. Does anyone know the url for basemaps in AGX?
We are having the same problem here (behind a firewall, can't see basemaps) and need this to be fixed ASAP. Otherwise we could only give up AGX. ESRI, any suggestions?
Our solution was to give AGX a free pass around the Proxy Server. That was the restriction. Since AGX does not allow you to download such as a browser it was deemed permissable.
Unclear why the proxy server did not permit it to bring in the basemaps.
