I performed a silent "Per User" install on two new/clean Lenovo X230 laptops (Windows 7 SP1, 64-bit) with ArcMap installed and all went as expected except the basemaps did not load on either laptop.
I went to the AGX button in the upper left-hand corner, >ArcGIS Explorer Options >Advanced >Delete All Caches and the basemaps did not install.
I uninstalled and reinstalled AGX 2500 "Per User" and the issue persists.
I uninstalled the "Per User" version and installed the AGX 2500 "Admin" version and the issue persists.
On a second Lenovo laptop with ArcMap installed, the install worked perfectly with basemaps available. This laptop had AGX 2013beta "Admin" version installed previously.
Q: Can AGX 2500 "Per User" be installed on a machine that has ArcMap installed?
On a third Lenovo laptop without ArcMap installed and AGX having never been installed, the install went fine, the table-of-contents was empty, but the basemap gallery was populated with options. A basemap was chosen and appeared in the TOC and in the map frame as expected.
On three other Lenovo laptops that have had AGX 1750 installed previously, installs of 2500 are not showing the empty basemap behavior. The basemaps gallery appears populated in all these scenarios.
After the install of 2500 and first time opening the map application, the default nmf is not automatically installed at: C:\Users\user\Documents\ArcGIS Explorer. The user needs to hit the Save button and the "My Default Map.nmf" is automatically pointed at C:\Users\user\Documents\ArcGIS Explorer.
