I recently downloaded ArcGIS Explorer and am trying out the features. I have had a little experience with Desktop, but I'm not sure which file formats Desktop can open which Explorer cannot. For example, I downloaded some Landsat land cover data from here: http://www.gap.uidaho.edu/landcoverviewer.html
Now I can't figure out if I can view the data since it is in the .adf format.

I think .adf is an ArcInfo Grid format, which I'm afraid isnt supported. You can see the list of supported raster formats in the help:
http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisexplorer/1500/en/index.html#add_raster_data.htm

Hope this helps,

Good morning Ms. Gill

ADF format isn't supported, it's there a free progrom in the ArcGIS environment which supports this raster data format?
