I have a file as Hosted Feature Layer, but on the timeline widget in experience builder I can't select my data. The file has dates as columns recognised by arcgis and i want to set a timeline widget.
Is the fact that the column is recognised as date field not enough?
This tutorial at 02:45 says: The widget requires a files source that enables time-enabled data. you can enable time settings on a layer if it is published with a date field
https://mediaspace.esri.com/media/t/1_cne75nwz

So I'm trying to enable time as per this tutorial:
https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/10.7/use/configure-time.htm#:~:text=From%20the%20My%20Conten...
though on the page of my file, i can't find Time settings:

can you help, me? thank you
How do I enable time on my date field ?

Hi @FrancescoCotana, yes you can upload a CSV as a hosted feature layer/table. And yes I uploaded your dataset and AGOL does recognize the date fields. Once the dataset was successfully uploaded, I first clicked on the layer

Then after the layer's details page opened up, at the bottom right I did see the time settings. From here you can select which column/field you would like to use.

@FrancescoCotana, the file that you shared has been uploaded as a CSV so that's one of the reasons it's not recognized as a proper table/layer hence you can't see the time settings. Another thing I noticed in you CSV itself is that it requires clean up so that one Excel can recognize individual columns and then so will AGOL.

Also after cleaning up the CSV when you upload it AGOL make sure to select the first option as shown below and select coordinate columns if the dataset has any in the next steps. And if the date/time column is properly formatted in Excel then while uploading the CSV, AGOL will automatically recognize that column as date type. Once the dataset has been uploaded then you should be able to configure time settings.

Hello Ed,

Thank you very much for your feedback. I'm quite new to this field so i have a couple of questions:
1) you say: "the file has been uploaded as a CSV so that's one of the reasons it's not recognized as a proper table/layer hence you can't see the time settings", what format should I use? *.xlsx?
2) what do you mean exactly by cleaning up?

PS: when uploading the CSV as a hosted feature layer, which is how i did upload it, AGOL already recognised some of my columns as date fields. Currently even on experience builder I can tell that some fields I have are recognised as date fields. Do you confirm that this is not enough and I need to enable some time feature?

I'm sorry I might have shared the wrong file, here is the hosted one:
