I am using the Share widget in Experience Builder and it seems to share a link to the app with the default extent of the Experience Builder configuration. Is there a way to share the link to a defined map extent?
In comparison, the Instant Apps Sidebar app generates the link based on the current map extent that is being shared rather than the default map extent of the app.

Hi @JimBrewerLS
Since the February 2024 Online release, you can now share maps to different extents by sharing with map URL parameters. To do that, please make sure you have the maps enabled in Manage URL status and share the app with the URL parameters included.
Hi @Tiff
Thank you for your feedback.
Currently, the map extent is not included when sharing the app. However, this feature is within our product roadmap, and we are working on evaluating relevant functionalities - hopefully launch it as soon as possible.
You are also very welcomed to raise ideas in the Ideas channel or go through Esri Support. We can help evaluate the enhancement possibility based on the general feedback along the way. Thanks!
Hi @Shen_Zhang, thank you! Is there an estimated plan on when in the product roadmap this will be available? Also, do you have a visual to show the current roadmap? (I think I saw one shown at the UC but I do not have it handy)
We do not currently have an estimated timeframe for the implementation of this feature - as we receive numerous new feature requests, we need to assess their feasibility and consider general feedback to make adjustments to our roadmap accordingly.
At the beginning of each year, we will provide a roadmap update, but please note that it is subject to change. Please stay tuned for our upcoming UC this year, where we will unveil new features in the June release, as well as other exciting upcoming content.
I too am missing/needing this functionality. It's VERY helpful to be able to send a customer a specific area of an online map for review without having to instruct them on how to pan and zoom into an area of interest. Can you prioritize this feature a little higher, please?

Hi @Shen_Zhang, thank you for mentioning this. I actually posted a comment in the Experience Builder 2024 roadmap that I was having issues with URL parameters and have not yet received an answer. Please see the link above, or my copy and paste below:
I have a question about URL parameters. In the general tab, I turned on URL parameters via the "Manage URL status". I see the URL parameters show up in the link, but if I copy and paste into new tab, it remains at default extent. Same with using the Share too where you check maintain URL parameters box, it remains at default extent and draws some sort of square grid around the expected extent. Am I missing a step?
Thanks for sharing this with me @Tiff . Could you provide a screen recording that shows the behaviour you described above?
Hi @Shen_Zhang I just tried again and it looks like it works now. Sorry, should have checked before following up. Thank you!
That's great news. Make sure to let me know if you run into any other issues. You're also welcome to bring up new ideas via Ideas channel or Esri support. Thanks.
