problem with search widget suggestions

Hi, ever since the Feb 2026 changes, the search widget in my apps is not working how I would like and how it used to prior to the updates.

 

I have a feature, land parcels, with several fields that are "searchable" including party name, parcel identifier, etc.  Before, when I started typing a owner last name, the search suggestions would only pull from that field, ie. owner names.  NOW, it will create suggestions from, say the parcel identifier number as the top results and no names are even available in the suggestions list.  Those identifeer numbers, in this case, are from that owner name, but this will not do my clients any good as they will be searching strictly for suggestions based the type of search they are creating.  For example, if they are search by a name, I only want suggestions from the name field to be displayed.  If I am search for a big long parcel number identifer, only suggestions from the number field are showed.  This is how it used to be and I am wondering what changed, and how to change it back.

Hi @ClintOffutt1 this sounds like what is reported in BUG-000183065: Experience Builder Search Widget with custom search source displays duplicate suggestions when multiple search fields are set. It is currently under review. We apologize for the inconvenience.

@ClintOffutt1  I believe I am the one that filed this bug. Below is the response I got this morning.

"ArcGIS product teams are preparing to address BUG-000183065

Description: In ArcGIS Experience Builder, the Search widget with a custom search source displays duplicate suggestions when multiple search fields are set.

The product teams have prioritized this issue for implementation in a future release. Typically, once an issue enters this status, it is implemented within one to two release cycles. At this stage, software issues are still subject to change and could be dropped or postponed. You will be notified of future updates."

I am doing a workaround instead now.

@ClintOffutt1 I just tested the old way and it is working now. My work around was make two parcel entries with one searching just parcel numbers and another searching owner names.

Ha, mind is working fine now too!  Must have got the bug worked out.
