Hi,
I am trying to use the merge tool in Experience Builder's Edit Widget to combine polygon geometries. However, I'm unable to locate where the merge tool is located once I check the "Merge" box in the Editor Widget settings. The copy/paste tools are visible but the merge & split tools are unavailable even though I have them turned on (see screenshot below).
Has anyone else experienced this or know why they aren't appearing? I know these functionalities were added somewhat recently to EB so I'm not sure if it is a bug or something simple I'm overlooking. I haven't been able to find much documentation on the issue.
Additional Context: I have geometry editing enabled on the layer and I have batch editing enabled in the editor widget.
Thank you!
@g_maps the Merge tool will be available once you click the Edit button at the bottom of the panel. It will be in the toolbar to the right of the "Zoom to" button
Hi Craig,
Thank you for the reply, I double checked and that option is actually not available for me. Any ideas as to why? I own the layer I am working with and all editing is enabled except for deleting features.
@g_maps can you try the same workflow and web map using the Edit widget in Map Viewer? Depending whether the Merge tool is available, that will tell us where the issue might be.
@CraigGillgrass I will give it a shot rn
@CraigGillgrass When I try to merge polygons directly in map viewer the option to merge is unavailable as well.
@g_maps odd, are you able to share the web map so I can take a look? You could invite my user "craig_sp" to a group in your organization. There may be something with the data that is causing this to happen, I'd need to take a deeper look. Feel free to DM me with the information if you.
@g_maps ah, this explains it. The delete privilege is required for the Merge tool; since it's deleting one of the features.
The only way around this would be to use the Web Editor Instant App template which allows you to configure an app and remove the Delete tool, while keeping the Merge tool.
