Hi
I have an issue with the legend widget when switching between desktop -> mobile layouts. The desktop layout uses a grid with a main map pane, bookmark pane along the bottom and a fixed right-hand pane for legend, layers and queries.
If I change the layout to tablet or mobile view, the map now appears in an extra tab along with the bookmarks. This is expected behaviour, however the linkage between map and legend is lost, so no legend is shown.
If the app is returned to desktop view the legend is re-united with the map
This behaviour can be triggered in the editor in live view or the published app.
Is there a way to keep the legend populated in all 3 layouts?
Thanks
Try this. Send the Legend Widget to the Pending List when switching to the mobile view and also in the mobile view add a second Legend Widget that connects to the Map Widget used in the mobile view.
That unfortunately made no difference. I tried to use it partnered with both the original map widget and with a second map widget in just the mobile view. Do I maybe need to be looking at triggers?
@Webturtles The reason is that your map is out of view (another tab of the grid layout) when reviewing the Legend widget, so it cannot get the map info successfully. There is a support ticket for that - BUG-000156708.
Currently, the workaround is to ensure that your legend/MapLayers widgets, etc. are in the same view as the map.
Thanks for the update, understand, albeit a tad annoying! Is there a recommended way to manage mobile real estate with a map and legend in view? Does this out of view issue apply to any other map dependent widgets?
