I'm confused about the settings for the Group Filter, specifically the 'Group SQL Expression'. What is the difference between the Source Types - User Input, Unique and Unique (predefined)? I want a list that updates automatically as more data is added to the main field.

My understanding is Unique (predefined) is if the author creates a list to limit users by. Unique itself should act as the list that automatically updates as more unique values are added.

As in, if I'm filtering a field of people's favorite fruit, I could either limit the filter to only looking for "apple", or "orange", or "pineapple", if I chose Unique (predefined). If I choose Unique, it will add the other values, like strawberries, to the dropdown.

If you're setting up a filter widget, you additionally have to check the radio button (in settings) to "Ask for values" and then "List values based on" = "All unique values of this field".

And User Input would be a raw text input of the user's choosing.
