exploring trend data from multiple fields using timeline widget in ARCGIS experience builder

Hi!  I'm trying to build an app that lets users explore trends in water quality data over 25 years. I can get a map to display changes through time, but how can I set this up so the user selects which field (water quality measurement) they want to map? Water quality fields include mean nitrates, mean phosphates, max bacteria counts, etc.  Do I create a separate map for each field (water quality measurement), a layer within a map for each field, or is that not necessary? I would like a button/selection/drop down menu way for a user to select the field/measurement/variable they are interested in and have the map respond to show that accordingly.

I know you can get a category selector in Dashboards but you could try setting up custom filters that might help with what you are trying to achieve?

But this would be a great suggestion in the Ideas page for Experience Builder.
