Experience Builder Developer Edition Map Widget Select Tool not selecting map features

I have an Experience Builder Dev Edition application at version 1.17. I have turned on the "Select" Tool which is built in to the Map Widget as an option. In my map I display a map service with many layers, points, lines, and polygons. The Select tool works fine selecting points and polygons but it will not select the lines (i.e. roads) on my map.

What could be causing this? I have not discovered anything where this could be remedied so right now it is looking like a bug in the tool.

What am I missing? Settings in the tool for "Partially contained by", "Select completely within" etc. make no difference. I can completely contain the element with the rectangular select tool and nothing is selected. The map itself is hosted on AGOL and I don't see any way to change selectable settings for layers there either.

OK, I finally figured this out. I was on the verge of omitting the Select Tool entirely so it wouldn't confuse users. I do still think this is bug as the linear features aren't selected as part of a new selection. The "secret" is that in order to select a linear feature you have to press Shift while drawing with the select tool, which is supposed to only be necessary if you want to add to a current selection. This will select everything including the road/linear feature and then if you need to isolate the road itself you can use Control/Draw to unselect other unwanted features.

I'm happy I figured this out but I anticipate having to explain this many times to confused users!

This does sounds like a bug. I have a map service with point, line and polygon features, and I am able to select across all shape types.

Are you able to share the service where you are seeing the issue?
