Edit Widget not working properly

I created an Experience Builder App using the Quick Navigation template and added in the standard Edit Widget.

I created a point, line, and polygon feature layer for staff to use to draw things.

I was testing the Edit Widget on Thursday morning 10/17/24 and it seemed to be working fine. Then by the end of the day it was no longer working and it still is not working.

I can draw a polygon using the create button, but when I click the select button the loading circle slowing spins and never stops, even after 10 or so minutes.

I can select and delete the sketches in web app builder and also in field maps, but not in experience builder.

before I click select:

After I click Select:

Am I doing something wrong?

As a side note I am trying to create this app to convince some of our staff to use web editing and it was really embarrassing showing them the tool and having it not load.

All of my other apps are in WebApp builder and I have been resisting to change to experience builder because I don't want to deal with glitchy tools and be guinea pig for ESRI. My coworkers expect the tools that I maintain to be reliable. So this kind of stuff is very concerning to me considering that web app builder is going to be phased out. What is the incentive to start using the tools if they are not actually functional?

@AlixVezina Ah okay. I didn't see that, thank you.

All of my layers are published in AGOL.

I just went into map viewer and was able to delete the polygons. But shortly after I got a blinking blue dot next to several of my layers and pop-up messages saying layers could not load, in map viewer and in the experience builder template.

Then I went into Experience Builder and removed the edit widget, saved the template, then added the edit widget back in and it all seems to be working now. I drew and deleted points, lines and polygons in both map viewer and in the Experience Builder template and it seems to be working fine now.

Here are the settings I used in the edit widget:

I will mark this as resolved. Thank you!

Hi @L77 ,

Based on the screenshot you've shared, it looks like your data sources may not be loading properly.

Please check that these layers are still accessible; for example, try to load them within Map Viewer and edit them from there.

Could these layers be coming from a server that went offline or became inaccessible for some time?

Interesting... It does look like some issue with the layers loading. If you see this again, please do feel free to reach out to Esri Technical Support so they can help figure out what's going on with your layers! Thank you!
