Edit widget doesn't inherit transparency of underlying layer

Issue: I have a Zoning polygon layer at 40% transparency. When editing it, however, it becomes completely opaque, making it difficult to see underlying base layers such as parcels and lots. It would be nice to be able to see the lot line under the transparent Zoning layer so I could split it precisely. Adjusting layer order so that lots and parcels sit on top of the Zoning layer did not help, either.

Have you tried seeing if there was a difference in color transparency vs layer transparency? Meaning does the edit widget still fill it in no matter how the transparency was set?

I have an app with the edit widget and can see the lines beneath it in AGOL. My transparency is set on the fill color
