Does anyone know what the Consent mode setting in the Privacy and security section of ExB does?
It has two settings ('consent required' and 'consent optional') but as far as I can tell it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever which setting you choose as the behaviour is identical for both settings. According to the documentation:
"The Consent mode setting appears if you also turn on Google Analytics (GA4). You can make giving consent to allow cookies required or optional to use the app."
I assumed if it was set to 'consent required' it would block use of the Experience until consent to cookies had been given, but that isn't the case as you can just use the Experience without dismissing the cookie consent window.
I'm wondering if this is a bug and the functionality was never implemented?
I haven't played around with this functionality at all yet, but I wonder if it matters if you're the author? Maybe for a different user, the consent window would actually block the user from interacting with the app until they give consent?
Hey @NicoleJohnson, thanks for the reply. I can confirm that it makes no difference if you're the owner or not. The Experience is available without requiring a login and the cookie consent window behaves exactly the same for all users.
