I am working on an experience that has a sidebar but no first and second panels. How do I make those appear? Thank you

It gets labeled like this if you have everything on one side (or nothing in either side (not the issue in your case)) of the Sidebar, physically drag something into the other side and it should re-label with First and Second.

Thanks! Since I don't see a 'First' and 'Second' panels, I don't know how to drag an elment into a different panel. I want the table in 'bottom' panel. I just can't figure out how to get it there 🙂

I moved the table up, opened the second (empty) panel and was able to move the table into it and the panels appeared in the left side.Thank you!

This is at least one of the most annoying aspects of Sidebars, it's an essential function! You'd think that we would have more control over it than merely hoping the First and Second panels just ... appear. Dragging (a thing) around until something just appears is absolutely ridiculous. Fix this Esri.

This Question is over a year old with an already accepted Solution. This is not an effective way to bring this problem to ESRI's attention. Please make your suggestion on the Ideas Board or open an Enhancement ticket with ESRI Support.

A bit more solution:

Until Esri fixes this unnecessarily automated aspect of the Sidebar widget in Experience Builder, don't just move things around until the "First" and "Second" panels appear. Make sure the "Size" in pixels of your "Side panel" is not too big or too small to engage the First and "Second" panels appearance.  Then, you can safety move things around until the upper or lower half of your screen, or the left or right side of your screen (depending on your sidebar configuration), lights up. Then you drop your window or widget or whatever and it should engage the First and Second Panels.
