This idea stems from this post:

https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-experience-builder-ideas/allow-snapping-in-measure-tool-for-exp...

At 1.16, snapping was introduced on the measurement tool. It is on by default. This idea is to add the function to allow the user the ability to turn snapping on or off within the widget.

Hi @Brian_McLeer ,

Thanks for your idea!
We would consider to support this option in widget configuring but it is currently limited by JSAPI.

Currently with Measurement widget, you can press on "CTRL" key while measurement and it will disable snapping. Please try and let me know if it works.

Hello @Wei_Ying, thank you for looking into this. Thank you for the CTRL tip, it did work to disable the snapping!

We will provide an option soon to disable/enable snapping in the Measurement widget

Thank you for the update @Wei_Ying

Now that the Measurement widget is not standalone and is buried in the Map widget so I can't interact with any settings, where do I turn on the snapping?  I do not have any snapping whether I use the CTRL button or not.  I am using referenced data in an Experience in Portal.  What am I missing?

It will only work for layers that have vertices, like a hosted feature layer. Not a map image layer or vector tile.

These are referenced vector layers that have vertices.  We are running Enterprise 11.3.  No default snapping, no CTRL to activate or deactivate snapping.

I'd appreciate an update when the option to DISABLE snapping within the measure tool.  We don't want our users snapping to vertices on 66' wide parcels that may actually be 65' or 67' depending how old the survey may be.  For this reason, we are not providing the measure tool as it defaults to snapping.   We are aware the user can turn off snapping with the CTRL option but we don't want users thinking they are surveyors and finding "problems" that aren't problem.   We prefer the option to measure and turn off the snapping function in the widget so users can't snap at all.

@ChristyChristensen the option to Disable snapping for 2d measurement will be ready soon in the coming June release. But JSAPI in 3D has not supported this option. Do you see significant performance when measuring in 3D map?
