The WebAppBuilder 'Layer List' widget included a built-in search function. This allowed users to filter the layers displayed in the layer list based on search terms. It was very useful when the user was unfamiliar with the map and/or there was a long list of layers, and they needed to locate one specific layer quickly.
The Experience Builder 'Map Layers' widget has no comparable function, nor is there any other apparent replacement for this function currently in Experience Builder, from what I can tell.
Can this functionality be added to EB restore parity with WAB in this regard - possibly as an option that can be toggled on or off when configuring the Map Layers widget?
That would improve the usability when there are many layers to a map.
The search capability has now been provided in the Map Layers widget with the latest AGOL release.
Thank,
Tonghui
YES!!! it' in AGOL (tested on 12/mar/2024)
I am guessing it will be in the forthcoming ExB Dev Edition release (soon)
How to get Layerlist widget with search option in WebAppBuilder? I don't see search option available on Layerlist widget in the Web App Builder on our Portal for ArcGIS. Any help in finding and adding it to the App will be appreciated. We do need this function badly as we have so many layers in the map.
@Syed_AzamGhouri What Enterprise version are you running? AFAIK, the search functionality was added in Enterprise 11.3
I'm hoping to have the map layers widget in ExB update based on an address search result. Some of the posts here gave me hope but it seems this functionality is still not available...
In an ideal scenario, the user puts in an address, the map widget pans to this address and the map layers widget updates to show the layers in the returned display extent.
Looking at the settings for the map layers widget, it looks like this kind of dynamic filter of the map layers widget 'list' is not possible yet - would that be correct? I have got a few work arounds for it but it would definitely be more efficient if the map layers widget had the functionality.
Sorry to sound like a stuck record (!) but are there any plans to improve the map layers widget to incorporate this type of functionality? Cheers
