Problem with legend in ArcGIS Server

I have an instance of AGS 10.1 & 10.2 - this problem happens in both. I am using Desktop 10.2. In my ArcMap document, the legend looks like the first attachment. After publishing to Server, the legend you get through the resulting Map Service looks like the second attachment (the color ramp is inverted). I think this has to do with the fact that I have the 'Invert' checkbox checked in the symbology tab in my ArcMap document and then ArcGIS Server is not reading that designation correctly. I unzipped the .msd and see that the 'Invert' tag is set to 'true' in the corresponding layer .xml, but it's still not working. Anyone know what is going on?
Thanks!

Hi there Donald, any chance you have discovered a solution, reported it as a bug, or seen this issue otherwise resolve itself? I will be submitting this to ESRI tech support for guidance and will reference your post, but thought you might also have some insight!

We just discovered the same issue today in AGserver 10.3 and were able to work around it by unchecking the "invert" property on the layer symbology as well.

Do you recall for what data type you discovered this problem? We have seen it on file based, RLE compressed IMG files and wondered if it is specific to that data type or a broader problem.

Our next problem is that we have 1200 map documents created by external folks and don't know if any others use the invert property - I'm a python coder but this property is only exposed in ArcObjects.

Cheers

Danelle
