This question is specifically about whether the following scenario would violate Esri's licensing.

Let's say an organization has a full ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 setup (Portal, Server, Datastore), as well as standalone (unfederated) ArcGIS Server that uses built-in users and role permissions.

I know that feature services from the unfederated ArcGIS Server (UAGS) can be registered in Portal using stored credentials, shared like any other Portal item, and then made available to a web map.

In this scenario would viewer user-types be able to edit these feature services.

Another possible scenario is a custom application that allows users the ability to edit such services via a server-side process that handles the service requests uses stored credentials.

Would either or both of the above run afoul of Esri's licensing terms of service?
