I noticed that it's possible to draw a circle on a web map with the ArcGIS for JavaScript API but I don't see a corresponding way to do it for the Export Web Map service?
Is there any way to draw a circle on a map given a point and a radius in miles/kilometers (not pixels)? I looked at the demo at http://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/samples/widget_print/but noticed that the JSON sent to the Export Web Map service include a big polygon with lots of little line segments, which were presumably generated by the web page.
In my case, I would like to skip generating a web map and go straight to generating a PNG.
I am running ArcGIS for Server 10.1SP1 but would be happy to try upgrading if there's a way to do this in later versions.
