Does the type of “tile format” of a cached service affect the performance?
I’m wondering if the type of “tile format” of a cached service affect its performance when consumed.

Hi again Jamal,
PNG format supports transparency and is a lossless format. I would assume JPEGs are prefered for higher perfomance due to the compressed file size and non transparency.
This really depends on the differences between png and jpeg handling by arcgis server from the bundle file (.bundle), which I am unfamiliar with.
Cache perfomance can be improved by tuning the disk sector size.

for example if your disk sector size is 4kb and you have three 5kb images, you are wasting 1kb of space per 3 sectors.
It's always important to consider this when building a cache.
Retrival of the cache files can be affected by fine resolution of data in disk sectors which would affect perfomance.

MXD PerfStat is what ESRI Professional Services would use. At least to test web server loads, display performance, and image display refresh times.
