We have a requirement to edit the data from outside of our environment. Admin has configured the users in ArcGIS Online to edit our Feature Service, those were published through on Premise ArcGIS Server. We created Host and Guest Collaborations and shared across the distributed group. we have specific AD group for outside users and I added it to distributed group.

They are able to edit the our feature services without no issues. However, they need to provide a AD Credentials to view/edit the feature service. I believe, it is needed to edit the IWA Enterprise Feature service.

We have created dedicated SQL Database user to publish the ArcGIS Server service.

Do we need to give Data editing privileges  for published user ?  If we won't grant  editing privileges , the end user is getting an error "Insufficient permissions". if we grant the editing privileges, They can edit the feature service with no issues. Our ArcGIS Enterprise is IWA identity.

Is this a best practice grant editing privileges for published user?
