Configure ArcGIS Web Adaptor

I am currently testing ArcGIS Server 10.2, and I went through the steps to configure web adaptor after installation: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#//01540000041q000000

It shows the GIS server is registered to my Web Adaptor, and I can now use the URL ( http://localhost/arcgis/rest/services ) for accessing services in the Services Directory. However, I am unable to access the Services Directory page. The error I am having: Could not initialize class com.esri.arcgis.discovery.security.manager.WebSecurityManager; Code: 500.

Note: Under Application Pool in IIS Manager, ArcGISWebAdaptorAppPool .NET Framework Version is v.2.0.50727.
Also, I am able to publish may services, but I am simply unable to access Service Directory page.


Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Any idea/suggestion will be welcomed.

Not exactly certainly how the problem is solved.

By going to the root first, now I can access the Services Directory.

It should have something to do with Window authentication, but this is as much as I know.
