Browser back button not working for ArcGIS Enterprise Sites Gallery Cards

Hi Team, 

We are using ArcGIS Enterprise Sites and have noticed that selecting the back button in the browser (Edge and Google Chrome) only works if the current page was navigated to using the menu tabs in the application header. When the last navigation was using a gallery card layout element, the back button does not honor the navigation back to the previous page, and simply refreshes the current page. 

Is this expected behavior?

Same thing is happening to me. When users click on the button to open an app from a gallery card, and then want to go back to the site, clicking back doesn't work properly. For me in Edge, it opens the empty new tab window.
