Hi,

I once deleted ArcGIS World Geocoding Service as a utility service in my portal and would like to add it back. I found that the URL was https://geocode.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World/GeocodeServer/geocodeAddresses, but when I tried to add it, it said:

This is a secured geocoding service and cannot be added as a custom locator as-is. If you wish to add it as a custom locator you must first add it as a secure item, electing to store the credentials. Then, add the resulting item URL as the custom locator.

I am not sure what this message means. How can I add this default geocoder back?

Thanks!

I just figured it out that, instead of adding the URL to "Utility service" setting, I should go to "ArcGIS Online" setting, turn on Geocode, and enter my ArcGIS Online credential. This will add ArcGIS World Geocoding Service back to "Utility service" setting page.
