I am planning on developing an SOI for feature services and map image services to apply fine-grained security.  For example, the SOI shall determine if the user is able to see all the data or part of the data.   If the user can only see part of the data, then the SOI shall add a query filter to the request to limit the results to only what the user is authorized to see.   However, I see this is not possible for stream layers.  We have a custom proxy that is filtering the stream layers now, but I wish to replace our proxy with an SOI, but the stream layer limitation has thrown a monkey wrench into plans.  Please add that capability.

I'd also support this idea. We have an off-the-shelf product, security.manager, that provides fine-grained access control on ArcGIS Enterprise map and feature services. It is implemented as an SOI (though the product family goes back 17 years, we moved to SOIs as soon as Esri made that option available). Here's a Storymap describing it.

We would also welcome an SOI on Stream Services, as we do have customers that would like to be able to use our product on such services. If SOI capabilities are available, we can expand our functionality to more service types.
