Requesting the implementation of the OGC Two-Dimensional Tile Matrix Set (TMS) 2.0 standard (OGC 17-083r2) as a native option for indexing and serving Vector Tiles. While ArcGIS currently supports the "Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere" tiling scheme, formalizing the OGC TMS schema will ensure seamless interoperability with the OGC API - Tiles ecosystem and open-source clients without requiring custom metadata translations.
This can be achieved in both ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise portal.
ArcGIS Pro "Create Vector Tile Index" Tool: Add an optional parameter to define the index using a specific OGC Tile Matrix Set (TMS) (e.g., WorldCRS84Quad).
ArcGIS Enterprise: When publishing Vector Tile Layers, provide a toggle to "Expose OGC TMS Metadata" to automatically generate a compliant Tile Matrix Set Link.
