The ability to query feature layers in ArcGIS Earth by attributes is helpful, but often times a spatial selection/filtering is necessary. The existing spatial filter functionality for 3D object and point scene layers seems like it would fulfill my desired functionality, but it would need to be able to operate on 2D feature layers. Having this functionality would be helpful for non-GIS users to be able to select features of interest by simply drawing an area on the map and give them the ability to export to formats more familiar to them (KML) for sharing, etc.
Hi @NikyShamblin ,
Thank you for the detailed suggestion—this is very helpful!
We understand the need for spatial selection/filtering on 2D feature layers, similar to what is currently available for 3D object and point scene layers. Your use case (draw an area, select features, then export/share as KML for non-GIS users) is clear and aligns with common collaboration workflows.
I have shared this request with the ArcGIS Earth team for product consideration. Feedback like this directly helps us prioritize improvements to query, selection, and export experiences.
Thanks again for taking the time to describe the scenario so clearly.
