Tableau vs Insights vs Operations Dashboard

Hello everybody,

For those of you who have made the switch to or from Tableau to Esri products, do you have any words of caution or advice? What do Esri viz products do that Tableau cannot do and vice versa?  Currently our client hosts data on MS SQL Server. Can either of these Esri platforms directly connect to SQL Server?  Can either of these platforms visualise non-spatial data in interesting vizzes that are not bar charts or tables?

FYI, both ArcGIS Insights and ArcGIS Dashboards can access and work with data in a SQL Server database.
