Hi. My dashboard has a map, configured with a popup. The way that popup is displayed has changed recently. It used to look similar to how the popup looks in the map viewer, with the popup pinned in a corner of the map. Now the popup displays as a column on the right side of the map taking up the entire vertical space of the map (see screenshot - the popup is circled with orange graphic).
Does anyone know why\how this changed? Nothing about this is documented in release notes for the November update to AGOL... When editing the dashboard, there is no configuration for how popups display. I don't see this as an improvement.
Thanks
Agreed.
Hi @ZorbaConlen1,
This was an intended change with the most recent update in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Dashboards. Our internal teams have been made aware of some of the issues with this change and are evaluating suggestions for future updates. We have the following formal enhancement logged for pop-ups:
If you would like to follow along on the status of this enhancement, I would recommend creating a case with Esri Technical Support (Contact Esri Technical Support) and request that your case be attached.
I would also recommend giving a like or a 'kudos' to the Esri Community idea here: Allow customised pop-up positioning - Esri Community to show additional support for this functionality.
Thank you,
Katie
Ok, thanks for the info. I kudoed the idea.
Just some feedback, I really hate it when Esri makes unilateral changes thinking they are "enhancements" without providing them as an OPTION. this new capibility is horrible since it hides a good part of the data the user is viewing...
We're in the process of creating a Dashboard and this undocumented change is really annoying. I really hope the related Idea (linked above) is implemented in the next release of ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Dashboards.
Is this enhancement also in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4? If so, I don't want to upgrade. Our users much prefer the original configuration.
