I'm missing a way to combine values from a field and make a category selector based on the combined groupings. For example I have a layer with a field that consists of values that represent plant species. These plants belong to three groups (endangered, harmful and others) but we do not have it's own field for this information. I would like to make category selector that has these three options where I could assign each of the plant species accordingly (i.e. plants a, b and c belong to the group endangered and plants d, e and f are harmful). Now if I use the grouped values action in the category selector, I will get all of the species as an option and the user would have to know what species belongs to which category and click all of the options.
This is just one example but in this moment we can only make category selectors that use the fields in the assigned layer as they are. Sure we can filter out some values but there is no way to combine values that I know of. And yes, there is ways to add this grouping information to a new field but that is not always possible or ideal to do. Enabling grouping of values in the category selector would be much more usable and add possibilities for all kind of users and needs.
