It would be useful if if the ArcGIS Collector was able to undertake basic calculations in the field.

This could be a setting something like Field3 = Field1 + Field2

I appreciate the response might be develop a mobile app from scratch or do this back in the office but this would be a simple but very useful addition to the Collector app for IOS and Android devices.

Thanks

It would also be great if the symbology used in the mobile client could respond to the calculated value.

Example 1 (emergency response / damage assessment)

Roof condition (undamaged = 0, minor damage = 1, major damage = 2, destroyed = 3)

Habitability (undamaged = 0, damaged but habitable = 1, partly habitable = 2, not habitable = 3)

etc...

Have the sum of these fields calculate on the device to an overall score which is reflected through symbology and attribution.

Example 2 (forest fire danger risk)

Bark rating (1 to 4)

Forest floor rating (1 to 4)

Elevated rating (1 to 4)

Have the sum of these fields calculate on the device to an overall score which is reflected through symbology and attribution.

It would be great if simple calculations could be performed on the device without requiring a round trip to the server which may not be possible following a disaster or in remote areas.  This was very straightforward for a few lines of javascript in ArcPad.

Thanks.

This is exactly what we need. Calculate a score on a point, then symbolize the map to show whether the point falls into the Good, Moderate, or Extreme category.
