I am now finishing my thesis by using CityEngine (CE). My thesis is basically about the "Application of 3D modelling in Planning Control (Urban Planning) and Public Participation". Basically I only have one more week to finish my analysis. So i have to start from zero since I am new in CityEngine.

So basically my data is from .Tab file and I have exported it to be used in ShapeFile. It is the Land Use data given by the local Authority. So can u recommend any video that I can refer to export the data from ArcMap to CityEngine.

I have already have the Street layer from the Land Use data that I have exported from the .Tab file. So how to use it to grow the street in CE? Than, how to used the images from the Google Earth as the base for my project?

How to make the Google Earth image as the basemap for the CE..Basically i have make the georeferencing in ArcMap, then how to make it being used in CityEngin?How to export the image, how to open it in the CE with the land use map for my project?

Hello Matt,

I am sorry..I still can't find the exact tutorial for my project.

Basically, my problem is that, I want to import a raster image which I had already georeferenced in it ArcMap. My raster image is basically from the google earth image that i have taken as I want to make it as the basemap for my project. Then I want to import the shapefile layer from the Arcmap which is the Land Use map for my case study area. Can you help me from the beginning because I am really don't know how to make it. It has been almost two week I have been looking for the solution. Really need your help

hi ..

I recommend to use the fast way :

- Same start as tutorial 3, part 2
http://resourcesdev.arcgis.com/en/null/noop88/index.html#/Tutorial_3_Map_control/032t0000000m000000/
(Import your own image of course)
- Use transform / scale tools ( w/e keys) to place the image in the scene manually.

Let me know if this works or you need preciser inputs.

Hi ..

just initialize the attr name in a rule, then point the attribute source to the imported data (object attributes).

attr Existing_L = ""

Shape -->
    case Existing_L == "value 1":
        color(1,0,0)
    else:
        color(0,0,1)

and so on .. ok ?
