Hi,

any chance I can edit a CGB file extracted from a .rpk file? if it's editable, which editor should I be using? I would like to further costumised the attributes that the CGB file contains. I got the .rpk file from Puma - CityEngine Plugin for Rhino and Grasshopper webpage. Street Segment Example Part 4 (Generic Modern Building RPKs).

I'm a basic city engine user. thanks for your help.

.cgb is purposefully binary of .cga hence is not editable

Hi @DerrickJuda,

CGBs are the compiled, binary version of the CGA files and therefore can't be edited. If in the RPK does not contain the CGA files you are out of luck.

The Street Segment Example Part 4 is based on the Philadelphia Example which you can download inside of CityEngine:

  • Help -> Download Tutorials and Examples...
  • Select Example Philadelphia 20XX.X and click on the Download button
  • Then in the download project look for the Generic Modern Buildings.cga rule

Generic Modern Buildings.cga has two different entry points Footprint and Parcel available. Keep @StartRule for only one of them (create a seperate rule file if you want to use both). Then edit the rules/attributes for you needs and share it as a RPK

Hope this helps,
Jonas
