CityEngine 2022 authorization error

Hi Talents,

I have subscribed "ArcGIS for personal Use", so I assumed CityEngine is also included in the service.[attach0]

However, I encountered trouble authorizing CityEngine2022.1.

None of two approaches below worked.

1. Use "License Server Administrator"

When it came to input Authorization Number(ESU...),

error showed up as below:

"ESU is only supported single use products"[attach1]

So I can't continue.

2. Use "CityEngine 2022.1 Administrator"

I completed the authorization process twice, so the second time it said "all requested features have been already authorized on this machine".[attach2-1]

But when I tried to open CityEngine2022.1, error message popped up as "CityEngine is not authorized for use".[attach2-2]

Did anyone know how to fix this?

Many thx in advance.

Not part of the Pro trial.

Web search .... CityEngine trial

Free 21-Day Trial of ArcGIS CityEngine | Sign Up Today (esri.com)

many more, that are country specific so you may need to refine the search

... sort of retired...

Hi Dan,

Thank you for the suggestion of using trial version.

Since I already officially subscribed "ArcGIS for Personal Use", instead of trial,  it seems I can use full version of CityEngine[attach4].

Which means, I paid the subscription fee but cannot use because of authorization issue.😂

Do yo have any advice?

I have successfully licenced CityEngine for personal use using named user, in arcgis online (your personal account organisation) make sure you have allocated the cityengine licence to your user account (ArcGIS Urban Suite) see agol Organization>Licenses.  When CityEngine launches you'll sign in using your personal use account. You need to make sure you have activated your subscription and setup your organisation in agol, I dont think any products will work until you have done this.

Cheers, Graeme

Hi Graeme,

Thank you for the advice, I have resolved this issue with Esri technical support.

The thing I did wrong is I chose "Single Use" when using "CityEngine 2022.1 Administrator". In my case(Personal User annual membership), the correct option is "Named User".
