Unspecified Geometry Type, works in Java but not Silverlight

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to all of this but I had a question regarding an error I'm receiving in the Silverlight Builder application. Some of my shapefiles have a yellow info triangle next to them that says "unspecified geometry type." What I find odd is that all these layers draw correctly when using the Java viewer in REST. Looking at the layers in REST, the ones that get the error do not have a geometry type listed, as expected.

I read on another thread that I should create an entirely new MXD and upload that as the MSD that the MXD was based on was probably corrupt. This did not solve the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi:

I'm in the learning process but check if the "Shape*" field is active in the attribute table at the project. If not, go to layer properties/field check the field Shape*.

For the record, I had the same issue as Grant and Roy's comment resolved it for me.  I didn't see this post in the Silverlight Viewer forum so I'm posting my comments here.  Thank you Roy.
