arcgisoutput folder is empty

I set the DynamicmapService output folder to be the arcgisoutput folder. There are subfolders with map service name created once you set up. however the folder appears to be empty. where all those temorary images stored on the server? I tried to get those images to build the print function.

The output folder is not used for the dynamic map service. Instead the data is returned directly in the exportmap REST request.
