Unfused cache in Flex Viewer?

I'm trying to use a service with a multi-layered unfused cache in the Flex Viewer.  I'm guessing the unfused cache isn't supported? Just in case, though:

I'm able to use the service when I set the type=dynamic, but if I change to tiled, it doesn't come in.  I've tried adding the service layer, as well as the individual layers from the service as here:
This works:
<operationallayers>
  <layer label="NYC 1950's" type="dynamic" visible="true" alpha="1"
                   url="http://mercator10.yu.yale.edu/ArcGIS/rest/services/scans/Chauncey_New_York_Scans/MapServer"/>
        </operationallayers>

These don't work:
<operationallayers>
  <layer label="NYC 1950's" type="tiled" visible="true" alpha="1"
                   url="http://mercator10.yu.yale.edu/ArcGIS/rest/services/scans/Chauncey_New_York_Scans/MapServer"/>
        </operationallayers>
or:
        <operationallayers>
  <layer label="NYC 1950's" type="tiled" visible="true" alpha="1"
                   url="http://mercator10.yu.yale.edu/ArcGIS/rest/services/scans/Chauncey_New_York_Scans/MapServer/3"/>
        </operationallayers>

Any thoughts?

Correct, the ArcGISTiledMapServiceLayer only supports single fused map caches.
