SFV 1.3 - menu sensitivity

hope someone can help.
i've tried all the ideas frm the old thread @ http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=158&f=2421&t=299405

but nothing seems to work.the menu keeps disappearing even if i "carefully move my mouse straight down the white line"

does the number of items in the menu matter (if you have say 10)?

   Try breaking them up into 2 different groups. I have heard that people have trouble after 7 items
