Report By Exception Widget - how to use proxy?

I would like my Report By Exception widget to use a layer via a proxy.
I have the proxy.ashx configured and specified in the config.xml, and the secured services work with the LiveMapsWidget. However, I can't figure out how to configure the Report by Exception to use the same proxy.
