I am having problems bringing in an ArcIMS service into ArcGIS Viewer for flex.

I added the following:

<layer label="National Guard Facilities" type="arcims" alpha="1" visible="false"
                   servicehost="http://ngcaap-472ap-22/"
                   servicename="flexpoint"/>

Does this look right?

It doesn't seem to work. Any Ideas?

Your example looks fine to me.  Here are three possible things to check for:

#1 If you're flexviewer is not accessed from the http://ngcaap-472ap-22/ then you 'll need a crossdomain.xml file at http://ngcaap-472ap-22/crossdomain.xml

#2 The ArcIMS service need to contain FEATURECOORDSYS and FILTERCOORDSYS with id's or string's.  This isn't always true, especially with really old ArcIMS'es.
See http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/apiref/com/esri/ags/layers/ArcIMSMapServiceLayer.html

#3 What's the SpatialReference of your basemap?  Is it in a projection that your ArcIMS supports?  This can happen with older ArcIMS'es.

Bjorn,

Thank you for the reply. I will contact the IMS administrator and attempt to resolve the issue.

I'm sure I will have more questions in the days to come.
