Incomplete geodatabase from extract data task

When I use the extract data widget, the downloaded Gdb file does not include the "timestamps" nor "gdb" files and thus is not recognized by ArcGIS as a Gdb. If I copy the two files over from a blank Gdb then everything works fine. Any clues why an incomplete Gdb is shipping?

The "Extract Data" widget (Flex API) extracts the data, writes the GDB, zips it up and sends it to the user's identified location.  I still don't know what the problem was/is, but it now works most of the time without any fixes.  I guess it is a black-box error/fix.
