How to use mode in fv2

I see that one of the attributes for mapservice is mode and from a previous post that one of the optiosn for this is MODE_SNAPSHO, is the definition or timedefinition set at the MXD or int he config file. If it is in the conifig file, what is the syntax?

   Currently in the Beta version, the MapManager.mxml is not setup to handle definition or timedefinition in the config file.
