Flex viewer: View points as photos

I would like to use geocoded photos in an application.   Small thumbnails of the photos would be shown on the basemap instead of point icons.    Similar to Google with the picture layer turned on.   Is this possible in the simple viewer, old or new version?

Yes, it's possible.  I think I used the PictureMarkerSymbol to do this a while back.

You could also try something like this...  although this uses geocoded photos available on Flickr... the concepts should still apply:
