FindTask 1000 point limit

I'm running a findtask query on a large point layer. It seems a maximum of 1000 points can be returned. Is this a limitation of the flex api or is there a setting to change this?

By default, map services return a maximum of 1000 features. This configuration can be changed from the Parameters tab of the Map Service Properties in either ArcCatalog or ArcGIS Server Manager.
