FeatureLayer Scale Dependency?

I'm trying to use a Featurelayer as maptips, but as my point layer contains roughly 25,000+ features, I only want to load the featurelayer at a certain scale to limit the number of features.  Is there a way to set a scale dependency on it?

I can't believe I never found these before: minScale, maxScale do the trick.
