So i am working on a mobile app for sightseeing located in Greece. I add pois on the map from my own server and i am trying to figure out how to provide rooting from users location to a poi. However, it seems that i need to buy a subscription for this. Is that the case? are there any other options to provide directions on arcgis? Thanx

Hi Leo,

Yes, you are right. ArcGIS Online Network Analysis Services require an ArcGIS Online subscription. Each successful request to the service incurs service credits which are taken from your subscription. More information regarding this can be found at Accessing Services topic of the Network Analysis Services documentation.

You can check this Flex API link about Directions:

Thank you for quick reply goldenlimit. i came across an article suggesting that there are other options from 3rd parties providing rooting. Is this correct? Arcgis has been great concerning the performance on flex for mobiles but limited direction is a problem. the app i am making will be used extensively for finding venues and getting directions. As a result paying per request is out of the question.
