Determine FeatureLayer geometryType

I have a map, From that I can get a list the map's FeatureLayers.

How do i get the GeometryType of each featureLayer?

Javascript has a simple: myFeatureLayer.geometryType, silverlight too I think but not flex it seems. Surely this can't be true?

I have of course searched the ArcGIS for flex forums and come up empty although I can not believe I'm the first to ask for this?

I can only assume I'm missing something obvious.

It's in the layerDetails.

featureLayer.layerDetails.geometryType
