Hi,

I am trying to add a WMS layer from nowCOAST:
http://nowcoast.noaa.gov/help/mapservices.shtml?name=mapservices
OBS service
RAS_GOES Layer

The layer shows up fine on the map. but is not transparent. i have used the transparent=true flag but it does not help. Can someone please help me make that layer transparent so i can overlay it against other datasets.

Thanks a lot for your help.

It looks like since it's an image layer, it's only transparent outside of it's extent.
e.g.,
http://nowcoast.noaa.gov:80/wms/com.esri.wms.Esrimap/obs?WIDTH=1342&VERSION=1%2E1%2E1&SRS=EPSG%3A432...

Have you tried setting the alpha property on your layer?
